Why was this project started?

brownfield development to satisfy the need of living spaces, office spaces an educational buildings in that area of vienna

The results of the project so far

.) contract between City and private developers for planning and realization phase
.) social mixed development inculding affordable housing-qoute 50%
.) new educational institutions for children from 0 to 18: 2 kindergardens, 1 elementary school, 1 musicschool and 1 high school
.) economical features like an 2 ha park with 200 new trees in between the buildings, giving every part of the new project access to green spaces and better micro-climate. economical supervision to ensure the right treatment for existing animals and plants, including natural space-like habitats.
.) sustainable energy concept with geothermal and solar power to reduce co2 emmisions
.) mobility concept: focus on "mobilty points" with car- and bikesharing
.) Re-Use conzept allready implemented, 27.700 kg of usable materials have been extracted from the demolished buildings and can still be used in our and other projects.
.) other to be demolished buildings are used temporarily from the technical university vienna, for events, and as offices for building companies. Outside spaces are temporarily used for urban gardening and beekeeping by nearby associations.
There also is an temporary concrete plant in use right now for an underground-project nearby, reducing their co2 emmisions, in the future that plant should also reduce the cost and co2 emmisions for our buildingproject.

> strong masterplan with implementation tools (guidebook, quality steering board)
> public-private partnership (City - affordable housing fund - private developers)
> strong coordination between single developers on each plot (i.e. landscape planning, mobility concepts)
